Arrival by coach
A coach from Manchester to Jodrell Bank has been chartered and will call at Wilmslow (Premier Inn on Racecourse Road, followed by the Coach And Four on Alderley Road) and Alderley Edge (Texaco Garage on Wilmslow Road/London Road). The coach will enter the site from the North where a member of staff will escort participants to registration.
On Thursday and Friday, the coach will take participants back to Manchester via Alderley Edge and Wilmlsow at the departure times on the agenda. On the evening of the conference dinner (Wednesday), the coach will drop participants off at the Merlin in Alderley Edge at around 6pm after which they will be collected at 10 pm and taken back to Manchester (via Wilmslow).
Participants who are using the coach who have not opted to attend the dinner have the option of catching a train back to Wilmslow or Manchester from the nearby Alderley Edge station, or we may be able to arrange a lift (contact the LOC).
Departure from Manchester
On each day, the coach will depart from a bus stop on Upper Brook Street (named: Brunswick Street Stop ID: MANADGJA), Manchester opposite the Jodrell Bank Centre for Astrophysics Offices in the Alan Turing Building. For Manchester-based participants, this is the same bus stop as usual for the departure of the “Jodbus”.
