ABOUT SPINS-UK
The SPINS-UK (Science Possibilities Investigating Neutron Stars in the UK) consortium brings together neutron-star and related gravitational-wave scientists from all over the UK. This year's meeting will be hosted by University College London, from 29–31 May 2019. The charming venue, Gustave Tuck Lecture Theatre, is a 5-minute walk from Euston Rail Station in central London.
If you have not already done so, please register here to confirm your attendance , or click on the registration tab. The deadline for registering will be 30 April 2019, so that we can finalise arrangements for catering and other needs. Once registered, you will be sent a confirmation email.
In addition to a varied programme of talks that cover the wide range of neutron-star science in the UK, we also plan to address the issue of Brexit and its effects on our research by scheduling talks by research support staff at UCL. We have also confirmed an exciting public lecture on Gravitational Waves (at the Harrie Massey Lecture Theatre, UCL, on the evening of 29 of May), to be given by Professor Alberto Vecchio from the University of Birmingham. The public lecture will be preceded by a wine reception.
Full details will be posted on this meeting website as they become available. We aim to run the whole workshop, including the public lecture, free of charge, and we are also are attempting to secure some funding for students and early career postdocs financial aid to attend this meeting. Would the latter be an option, it will be communicated promptly to all registered participants.
The organisers are committed to making this meeting productive and enjoyable for everyone, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, race, nationality or religion. We will not tolerate harassment of participants in any form. Please read the code of conduct here.
